Word Guessing Game/ "Heads Up" with Descriptive Vocabulary
As a warm-up activity, the teacher will ask for student volunteers to guess a word they are randomly assigned by the wheel below, based upon their classmates' hints without using the word.
The teacher instructs the volunteer student to turn away from the board as they spin the wheel projected on the board.
The other students will identify the word that the spinner lands on and the teacher will then take the word off the screen and ask the volunteer student to turn back around.
The students will then raise their hands with hints as the volunteer student calls on them and tries to guess the word based on the words within the wordbank and how the students are trying to describe the impact of the word.
